Forster Private Hospital is operated by Pulse Health who acquired the business previously known as Cape Hawke Community Private Hospital in April 2008.  

The buildings are leased from the Cape Hawke Community Hospital and Health Association Incorporated who are responsible for funding and building the original hospital in 1957 which initially had 3 beds and a delivery suite, and then undertaking various redevelopments to increase the hospital's capacity to 62 licensed beds, two theatres and a high dependency unit.

Forster Private Hospital is the only hospital in the Great Lakes local government area and has a proud tradition of providing quality health services to its local community.
